Medium-sized evergreen trees with crooked trunk, much-branched; branches usually curved, grayish.
Leaves oblong-obovate or narrow-obovate, 5–10 cm long, 2.5–3 cm broad, coriaceous, rounded, obtuse or rarely acutish at apex, cuneate at base, entire, somewhat revolute, glabrous.
Perianth of staminate flowers 4–6-lobed, puberulent outside, nearly glabrous inside; stamens 8–12, 2.8 mm long, 2.5 mm broad. Pistillate flowers 2–3 clustered, 1.5 mm long, 1.5 mm broad.
Cupules dish-shaped, 0.5–0.6 cm long, 1.7–1.8 cm across, scales imbricate, tomentose; nuts conic, 1.5–1.7 cm long, 1.5–1.7 cm across.
